Q: What's the story behind Bizzy Lizzy?
A: Bizzy Lizzy Flourless bakery was started in 2007 by Sheila Rae and Eric as a way to get their kids to eat a healthier breakfast. It quickly morphed into a full-time bakery with distribution at various stores in Michigan and an active online order-and-delivery service.
Q: Why flourless?
A: Why not? If you don't need it, don't use it! Besides that, though, wheat and flour have been shown to wreak havoc on your digestive tract and overall health, affecting blood sugar levels an the function of pretty much all your major organs. We take this completely unnecessary ingredient out and replace it with heart-healthy flax and oats. So you can enjoy your baked goods without the guilt.
Q: Is Bizzy Lizzy gluten-free?
A: Yes, and no. We are a wheat-free, flourless bakery, and as such, many (but not all) of our products are naturally gluten free. If you have a serious gluten allergy, such as Celiac disease, be sure to read our product descriptions, where we specify whether something is gluten-free or not.
Q: What's your best/favorite/most popular item?
A: Everything! Seriously, though, every customer has their own favorite. For something decadent, try our Frosted Brownies or Krispie Bars. For more of an every day staple, try our Wheat Free Fruit and Veggie Muffins, featuring seasonal fruits and veggies. Or for a do-it-yourself experience, try one of our versatile mixes, so you can enjoy flourless fun at home, any time.
