New finding in the area of stomach irritation and celiacs disease. From what I can tel they are carbohydrates that ferment quickly in the gut.These items are mostly associated with flour=breads, cookies, pastas, and artificial sweeteners (FODMAP's). However, they are also in apples, blackberries, nectarines, peaches, pears, plums, cauliflower, mushrooms and snow peas (bummer). People who have trouble with FODMAP's exhibit symptoms such as bloating and queasiness (symptoms of celiac). It may be the reason some people believe that they are celiacs, but that is not always the case. I will try to get my research assistants to gather more information about FODMAP. Hopefully you all can contribute more to the discussion. Curious minds do want to know.
