Our Mission

At Bizzy Lizzy Bakery we know the importance of combining nutritious and delicious.  We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality ingredients while balancing protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber as well as vitamins and minerals.  We all know that no food made by man is as nutritionally sound as those created by mother nature but we at Bizzy Lizzy sure try to stand up to her standards.

We believe that eating well does not have to be dry, tasteless or remind you of eating cardboard.  However it does include eating from many different food groups.  We are proud of our product because it has whole grain oats from the grain group, raisins from the fruit and vegetable group, peanut butter from the protein group and flax seed from the "good" fat group as well as grain group.

We want snacking to be enjoyable and nutritious.  We know that our busy life style has created havoc with our eating.  We are always in a rush so finding snacks and meal replacements that have health benefits is very important.

I created the cookie because what child would refuse to eat a cookie for breakfast.  My own children were skipping breakfast no matter how hard I tried or what I would fix, so Bizzy Lizzy Flourless Cookie was created to meet my own family's need.

The Bizzy Lizzy Flourless Cookie is loaded with fiber and protein to help maintain a level of satisfaction until the next meal.

In today's world of fast food, white flour and high levels of sugar we as a nation are facing higher levels of diabetes, obesity and heart disease.  In creating this recipe I took all of these elements into consideration.  My first concern was to eliminate the use of white flour and then I decided it was possible to eliminate "ALL" flour and pack the flourless cookie with all whole grain goodness.

I looked at protein sources and tried many combinations from soybeans, to navy beans, to tofu and finally decided on peanut butter a family favorite.  Sugar was an issue for me from the start and I tried to eliminate but could not do so because of texture but made great strives to keep it low and used raisins as a sweetening component - sugar is sugar though in any form and raisins even though they are Mother Natures Fruit, still show up as sugar.

I decided flax seed was a great source of good fat and fiber and so I added as much as possible without sacrificing taste.

We at Bizzy Lizzy strive to educate the public about the use of white flour in their diet and strive to live by our teaching.   We also use as much organic product as economically possible and recycle our packaging.
